Bases of natural life
At Naturageo, our therapies and teachings are based on the principles of natural health, using the essential elements of nature: the sun, water, earth, air and food in their purest state.
We are inspired by the teachings of Manuel Lezaeta Acharán, as well as the pioneering methods of naturists such as Sebastian Kneipp and Father Tadeo, who highlighted the healing power of these natural agents to strengthen the body and mind. At Naturageo, we believe that by returning to the basics, we can guide you towards a balanced life in harmony with your health.
The story
The story of Naturageo began more than 40 years ago, when founders José de Jesús Barba and Elvia Hernández joined forces and shared a vision of comprehensive health and well-being. A year after getting married, Elvia, a therapist by vocation, went through a deeply transformative experience when she lost a pregnancy. The situation was so delicate that she was declared clinically dead for a minute. This moment prompted her to change her lifestyle, as her greatest desire was to form a healthy and balanced family.
Her first contact with naturism was with Pharmaceutical Chemist and Biologist Eduardo Barbosa, a student of the renowned naturist Manuel Lezaeta Acharán, at his center in Guadalajara, Jalisco. Shortly after, Elvia met her mother Lidia in the same city, who introduced her to hydrotherapy treatments and a strictly vegetarian diet. It was there that the Barba-Hernández family decided to embark on a new path in life based on naturism.
Over time, the family grew and they managed to have three children, whom they raised in the naturist lifestyle. They decided to do without conventional vaccines and medications, opting instead for a regimen of hydrotherapy and natural food as part of their family routine.
In 1991, José and Elvia decided to open their first naturist center in San Miguel el Alto, Jalisco, with the purpose of sharing their philosophy of life and helping those who sought to live in plenitude. Throughout those years, they continued their training as naturist therapists and iridologists, dedicating themselves to offering a professional service committed to the well-being of their clients.
By 1995, the family had the opportunity to settle in Autlán de Navarro, where they currently operate their naturist center. At Naturageo, their goal has been to raise awareness in the community about the importance of natural health through organic detoxification, the application of hydrotherapy as a cleansing method, and “intelligent” nutrition that respects and enhances the body’s capabilities to achieve an optimal state of health.
While Elvia focused on therapies and food preparation, José “Pepe,” as he liked to be called, shared his knowledge through lectures and workshops, transmitting the same passion for a full life that began his journey decades ago.
Although in September 2022, José “Pepe” Barba suffered a fatal accident, his legacy of health and well-being continues. Naturageo is today the fruit of that commitment, led by his family, who with love and dedication continue to teach their clients how to understand, respect and care for the body through the natural health system.
